History
A non-profit cultural and educational organization, The Alliance Francaise of Indianapolis offers opportunities for any individual interested in the French language to discover French culture through the development of friendships, an understanding of the French language, and cultural exchanges. The cultural programs of the Alliance Française consist of events relative to the French and French-speaking world and serve as a vehicle for cultural dialogue. Conversation groups, Happy Hour, holiday celebrations, games groups, CD and video libraries and more.
Mission
Alliance Francaise d'Indianapolis is one of 175 independent Alliances in the United States and 1300 Alliances worldwide in 105 countries. The Indianapolis Alliance has approximately 150 members made up of French nationals and American francophiles. The purpose of the organization is to promote the cultures of the French-speaking world, the French language and friendship between our countries. Activities include lectures, social and cultural get-togethers, French conversational groups and a lending library for books, videos and games. (1996)
